GESTURES OF CONTINUITY

 

Paintings, Sculptures and Installations derived from repetition, variation and disturbance. Their structure, not a rigid framework but a beginning for an individual organic unfolding. A space, where intuition manifests itself - not as a contrast to order, but as an extension of it.

 

Material.

 

Our starting point and our destination. But beyond that also our daily companion as we wander, search, work, repeat, define, delight, struggle, wonder, decide and finish a job without ever being finished. 

By engaging with our material, we explore potentials — potentials of both substantial and cultural nature. Topics and technical aspects, which are largely more associated with applied art, are integrated into the system of fine arts, thereby questioning the latter. This creates disruptions in perceptual habits. To what extent can we negotiate the boundaries of these systems? How do these disruptions affect the viewer? Do they open up a space for conversation? Our answer is a negotiation, a yes, a question. An exhibition.
